Survival Rainwater Collection: Earth Bowl

A demonstration of a simple survival rainwater collection technique using a plastic sheet as a liner to a small ditch and making a "earth bowl" to catch falling rain.
I've used a 3'x3' plastic sheet (no holes) to gather almost 24 ounces from a light rainfall. I did end up with a small bit of trash in the water - dirt, pollen, and small jumping bugs. Which makes me think of what could be in water collected on ground level, like wild animals drinking from it, mosquito eggs, etc.
I also think about how much I would have collected from the same light rain fall if I used a 10'x10' plastic sheet.
